## PDF Patterns – How to Save, Print, and Store Them

So you've bought a bundle... now what?! All of our bundles are PDF files, you download and keep forever!

Customers often ask how to effectively save, print, and store their PDF sewing patterns. To help, we’ve compiled some tips and suggestions based on the most frequently asked questions we receive. While we’re here to assist you in accessing your purchased patterns, please note that our expertise is in designing sewing patterns, not troubleshooting individual computer or printer issues.

### **Downloading PDF Files**

On completion of your order, in most instances you will see a DOWNLOAD link on screen. Never fear if you don't, you are also emailed a DOWNLOAD email from us. Add hello@makersbundles.com to your safe list so you never miss an email from us.

In that email is a DOWNLOAD link, click it and you will be taken to your order page where you will see all of the individual pattern PDFS.

**Tap to download** and **save each of the individual PDF patterns to** your computer, laptop or cloud storage. We do not recommend saving files to tablets or mobile devices, unless you are experienced with this.

There are **download limits** to protect designers and Makers Bundles. Every time a PDF file is CLICKED that counts as a download, even if you haven't saved it, so click files and download them when you are ready to save and keep. If you reach a download limit, please reach out and we can reset you. We're in Australia, our timezones possibly don't match, please be patient and we will respond, we won't leave you hanging!

👉 If you're trying to download the patterns quickly, and clicking on the PDFs one after the other, some internet browsers can't keep up. Some will also ask you for 'permission' to do multiple downloads, so if your files don't appear to be downloading, this will be why. We recommend waiting for each pattern to download and save fully, before clicking on the next one.

### **Saving Your Patterns**

When you purchase a bundle, be sure to save the all the files to your personal computer, cloud storage, USB storage or laptop. This ensures you’ll always have access to your patterns.

### **Opening PDF Documents**

The most reliable way to open and view PDF files is by using Adobe Acrobat Reader which is a free program you can download [here](https://www.adobe.com/au/acrobat/pdf-reader.html "Adobe acrobat reader"). Ensure you’ve installed it to avoid any issues with opening your pattern files.

### **Printing PDF Documents**

To print your pattern successfully, follow these steps:

**Save Before Printing** \- Always download and save the PDF file to your device before printing. Printing directly from a preview window may result in incomplete or incorrect prints.

**Printer Software & Adobe Reader** \- Make sure your printer software is up to date and you have the latest version of Adobe Acrobat Reader.

**Print Template Pages Only** \- To save paper and ink, print only the template pages. You can refer to the instruction pages directly on your device.

**Printer Settings**

- Open the file and select the "Print" option.
- Set your printer to print at **100% (Actual Size)** with no scaling or cropping.
- Confirm your paper size (A4 or Letter) and ensure the settings match.

**Test Square & Accuracy** \- Many patterns include a test square on the template pages to verify correct scaling. After printing one page with the test square, measure it with a ruler to ensure accuracy before continuing.

**Troubleshooting Prints**

- If parts of the file don’t print, check your printer’s ink levels (both black and color).
- For persistent issues, consult your printer manual or seek help from the retailer, a copy shop, or your local library.

### **Printing Templates at a Copy Shop**

If needed, you may print single copies of your purchased patterns at a copy shop or library for personal use.

### **Storing and Backing Up Your Patterns**

Organize your PDF patterns in a dedicated folder on your device. For example, create a folder named “Makers Bundles” with subfolders for categories. These could include:

- Patterns organised by bundle name
- Patterns organised by project type or theme

- Patterns organised by designer

This system ensures your patterns are easy to find and access whenever needed.
